Teacher wants pdf. You wrote it in a notebook. Blue pen, last page a bit torn. Now it is 11 pm and Google Classroom will not take a stack of jpgs. It wants one pdf. This is every semester in Kota and in the college near us.
I am not a teacher. I am the person in the family office who got tired of forwarding 12 photos. We make one file.
Photo each page, straight as you can
Put the notebook on a table. Not on a bedsheet with flowers. Light from a tube or a window. No flash if flash makes a white lake in the middle of the sums.
One photo per page. Fill the frame. Fingers out. Then check you can read the heading.
If a page is upside down in the gallery, rotate in the phone before you drop. Or make the pdf and use Rotate PDF if the whole file landed on its head. 90 or 180. If only one page is wrong, rotate that jpg in the gallery, build again. Our rotate turns all pages. That is how the tool is.
Open JPG to PDF. Drop in page order. Page 1 first. The question paper copy, then your answers, or whatever the teacher said. Download. Open it. Flip. Then upload.
Your file is not uploaded to our server. The assignment sits in the tab. For a boring maths set that is still nice. You do not need a site account.
20 MB per photo. A page photo is not 20 MB. If it is, your camera is on some full size setting. Lower it. Or the drop will refuse.
PNG screenshots of a notes app are a different tool, PNG to PDF. Handwritten notebook is jpg from the camera roll.
Live photos: still image. Then drop.
I tell my nephew, do not photograph two pages in one shot to “save time”. The pdf page becomes a tiny book you cannot read on the teacher’s laptop. One page, one photo.
If the file is many small diagrams, Images to PDF Grid can put a few on one A4. For a full written page, do not grid. You will shrink the handwriting to ant size.
Order, names, and the 2 mb moodle cap
Teachers also write max 2 MB. Then you compress each jpg with Compress Image at 70, then jpg to pdf. If you pdf first, the fat photos are already inside. Order: thin photos, then pdf.
Check size with File Size Checker before Moodle times out.
Name the file rollnumber-assignment3.pdf if they asked. photos.pdf is what our tool spits. Rename after download. Windows, slow click the name.
If you dropped page 4 before page 3, clear the list, drop again. I do that rather than pray.
WhatsApp to yourself will crush handwriting. USB, cable, or download from Google Photos original quality if you must move devices. Classroom upload from the same phone you photographed is the short path.
Password not needed here. Do not lock the assignment. Teacher will mail you.
If a page is dark, take again. Compress will not invent ink.
Group work. Four people sending photos in a chat, mixed order, someone sends a meme in the middle. Copy the real pages to a folder named 01 02 03. Then drop. Chat order is not page order.
I had a file of 16 pages for an English assignment. At 11:50 pm. Width was huge. Pdf was 8 MB. Classroom said no. Compress each at 70, new pdf, 1.4 MB. He made it. Handwriting still ok. Quality 40 would have killed the quotes he copied.
Upside down, blanks, and late night Chrome
Upside down: Rotate PDF. If only some pages, fix those jpgs, rebuild. Faster than arguing with a rotate-all.
Blank photo of a blank page. Skip it. Teacher does not give marks for the inside of the cover.
Last page is a rough working you did not want. Do not drop it. Count the photos. Count should match the pages you meant.
Chrome. Phone Chrome works. Keep the phone plugged if battery is 8 percent. Tab dying mid-pdf is a special sadness. The work is in the tab. If the tab dies before download, you start the drop again. Original photos are still in the gallery.
Do not email the assignment to FileOnDesk. We will not print it or submit it.

I keep a cardboard as a background in the office for when a cousin comes with a notebook. White, stiff. Photos look like a scan even when they are not.
If the teacher wants pdf and also “typed”, that is a different assignment. This note is for the notebook that already exists.
May batch, a girl had 9 pages, two upside down, one finger. She retook the finger page, rotated two in gallery, JPG to PDF, then one 180 rotate because she still mixed a page. Second build was clean. Size 900 kb. Submitted.
I sat with my nephew in a Kota PG last year on a Sunday. Physics numericals, 11 pages, ink on both sides of a thin notebook so the back showed through. He photographed anyway. Teacher could still read. The pdf was 2.4 MB. Classroom limit 2. We compressed the jpgs at 70, built again, 1.1 MB. He submitted at 11:48. The hostel wifi died at 11:51. That is why we do not start this at 11:40.
If two subjects are in one notebook, do not dump the whole book. Only the assignment pages. Count them on your fingers before you drop. 8 pages means 8 photos. If the tool shows 9, you dropped the cover.
Parents sometimes photograph the notebook for the child and send a WhatsApp bundle with no names. I ask them to save as 01 02 03 on the phone. Then the child drops in order. Saves a fight at midnight.
Ruled paper photographs with a blue caste. Still readable. Do not filter to black and white in a beauty app. Those apps smear the 7 into a 1.
If the teacher later prints your pdf, sideways pages waste paper and patience. Rotate PDF before you upload, not after the marks are already in the sheet.
