About FileOnDesk

FileOnDesk is a small English site for people who need a file to go through, not a lecture. Merge two marksheets. Turn phone photos into one PDF. Check if a JPG is 200 KB before a college form laughs at it.

We built browser tools on purpose. When you drop a file here, it is read by JavaScript in your own Chrome or Edge tab. It is not posted to a FileOnDesk folder. Close the tab and the working copy is gone from our side, because it was never on our side.

That matters if the file is an Aadhaar copy, a rent agreement scan, or a signed last page from the boss. Shop owners upload licence scans. Students join certificates for a job portal. Office staff fight Gmail when a scanner PDF is 28 MB.

These tools are not Adobe Acrobat. They will not magically crush a heavy scan down to 200 KB and keep every stamp sharp. They will not open a password PDF. If a tool cannot do a thing, the page says so.

There is no login and no account. No database of your files.

The 18 tools cover the jobs people actually search: merge pdf, split a page range, rotate a feeder scan, jpg or png to pdf, a 2 by 2 grid, page count, compress and resize photos, png to jpg and back, pad a rectangle to a square, type passport photo pixels from the form, check file size, count words and characters, change case, strip extra spaces. Keep each drop under 20 MB. A tab is not a shop scanner PC.

FileOnDesk is not a government portal, not PSK, not a board website, not GST. Official photo size and file type always come from the form you are filling. We only resize, merge, convert, or count what you already have. A Rajasthan board limit from last year may have changed. Read the form that is open today.

Articles on this site are notes from the same mess. Email bounced because a pdf was 28 mb. WhatsApp would not send the scan. A job portal wanted one file of all certificates. They point back to the tool. They are not legal advice.

If something breaks, write to hello@fileondesk.com. Tell us the browser and what you dropped. We cannot recover a file you already closed, because we never held it. Do not mail Aadhaar or PAN to that inbox.

The work is simple. Drop the file. Download. Get on with the queue outside the office. English only, because that is how most portals label the upload box anyway.
